Kampman All Klass

It's not very often I come across a news story that surprises me, but that is exactly what happened this Saturday. Pro Football Talk featured a posting on Aaron Kampman, the newly signed Jacksonville Jaguar and former Green Bay Packer. Kampman took out a full page ad in the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel thanking the Packers, their fans, and the entire community.

At a time when it seems celebrities and sports figures only make statements that are self serving or simply damage control (i. e. Tiger Woods, Mark McGwire, Kobe Bryant) and usually written by a P. R. person, Kampman's statements are heartfelt and genuine.

Known as an awesome “locker room guy”, a hard worker in practice, and a team leader, many would say that Kampman had more than earned his money's worth, and owed the Packers and its fans nothing. This show of humility proves that the Packers lost more than just another football player.
