Round 5, Pick 147 - 151

147.)   New York Giants
Mitch Petrus, OG, Arkansas

Ht: 6' 3" Wt: 310

EMQB’s analysis on the pick:  Petrus is a good athlete but does not have elite speed for an offensive lineman.  He could become an effective left guard if he continues to work in the weight room.  He provides good depth initially and could blossom into a starter.

Lindy’s Sports scouting report:  Signed as a tight end, Petrus moved to offensive guard and then to fullback before settling at guard.  Scouts had questions about his ability in pass protection, but those were answered when Petrus earned first-team all-SEC honors in coach Bobby Petrino’s pass-first offense in 2009.  He remains a bit lighter than scouts would like, but Petrus plays with impressive tenacity and the athleticism that earned him a scholarship as a skill-position player.

148.)  Tennessee Titans
Robert Johnson, DB, Utah

Ht: 6' 2" Wt: 197

EMQB’s analysis on the pick:  Johnson is the type of player that teams take a risk on in hopes that they can develop physically and hold up in the NFL.  A good college player, Johnson's build doesn't translate to the NFL, but, if he can get bigger and stronger, he could have the skills to develop into a solid back up  or maybe even an eventual starter.

Lindy’s scouting report:  Johnson's lack of strength and spindly build might worry some scouts, but his height, speed and ball skills make him an intriguing centerfielder prospect in the mid-to-late rounds.

149.)  St. Louis Rams
Hall Davis, DE, Louisiana Lafayette

Ht: 6' 3" Wt: 271

EMQB’s analysis on the pick:  The Rams take a risk on a developmental prospect with big upside.  Davis could struggle in the NFL coming from the small school environment, but if the Rams are patient with him, he could, at the least, turn into an effective nickel pass rusher.

Pro Football Weekly’s scouting report:  Has an NFL-ready body, but a lack of positional instincts and production should give evaluators reasons for pause. Has the size, athletic ability and versatility to fit in a variety of schemes as a base end or potentially even as a rush linebacker. Could require patience but has upside with a coach who could unlock his potential. Compares favorably to Packers 2008 fourth-round pick Jeremy Thompson. The big question is whether any coach will ever be able to turn on his light bulb and unlock his potential.
NFL projection: Third- to fourth-round pick.

150.)  New England Patriots
Zoltan Mesko, P, Michigan

Ht: 6' 4" Wt: 235

EMQB’s analysis on the pick:  I don't know what I can say about a punter other than if he is drafted in the fifth round, he's probably pretty good.  His left-footed spin provides a different perspective for returners which makes fielding his punts more of a challenge.  He's also big for a punter and might be able to tackle someone in the NFL.  That's why you don't mess with "The Zoltan".

Pro Football Weekly’s scouting report:   Big, thick, long-levered lefty with all the tools to be a very effective NFL punter for a long time. Athletic ability, likable personality and experience kicking in inclement weather adds to appeal.
NFL projection: Late draftable pick.

151.)  Pittsburgh Steelers
Chris Scott, OT, Tennessee

Ht: 6' 4" Wt: 319

EMQB’s analysis on the pick:  A right guard prospect who could also fill in at right tackle, Scott is an excellent run blocker, and the Steelers, struggled at times, in that area.  The middle of the offensive line has been an issue for the Steelers for several seasons, and they have done a fine job of bringing in competitive players to upgrade those positions.

Pro Football Weekly’s scouting report:  Thick-bodied mauler who lined up at tackle and guard in college and has the size, awareness and versatility to compete for a job if he could manage his weight and buy into a program.
NFL projection: Late draftable pick.
